A rising force in the progressive underground, Hook started his musical career immediately after spending 9 months playing Internet computer games and never leaving his house. At the time his act consisted of playing electronic music with sequencers, drum machines, and keyboards on St. Louis County buses in Missouri. Even though he has abandoned such gimmicks, a touch of absurdity remains in every facet of the captain's stylized persona.
